Thu., July 31, 2008, 7pm movie: "PROFIT MOTIVE AND THE WHISPERING WIND" BY JOHN GIANVITO. 2640 St. Paul St. JOHN GIANVITO'S breathtaking documentary, which retells the people's history of the US through an exploration of the monuments it left behind. The screening will be proceeded by a salon presenting other artistic work and performance, including short films by MICHAEL SHAMBERG and JEM COHEN, photography from RYAN COFFMAN and ADRIANNA AMARI (whose collaborated with Daniel Berrigan on the great book Prayer for the Morning Headlines), as well as a short talk by the Jonah House's LIZ MCALISTER.
