Baltimore Grassroots Media (BGM) was
founded in the beginning of 2004 by public access TV
volunteers, producers and concerned citizens to organize
the public effort to restore public access TV in Baltimore
City. We continue to advocate for public access TV as well
as other public media, educate about the importance of
media literacy and media democracy, provide coverage of
local, state and national events (aided by Baltimore's
proximity to Annapolis and DC) and help others produce
their own programs that would not have an opportunity to be
broadcast in the commercial mass media.
